James Bond Game "007 First Light" Delayed Until May 2026
The upcoming James Bond video game, "007 First Light," has been delayed until May 27, 2026, developer IO Interactive announced. The game, initially slated for release on March 27, will now be available two months later.
IO Interactive, the developer behind the Hitman series, stated that the game is "fully playable from beginning to end" but requires additional time for "further polish," according to BBC Technology. The delay leaves fans "shaken, not stirred," as reported by BBC Technology.
"007 First Light" marks the return of James Bond to the gaming world after a 14-year absence, since 2012's "007 Legends." The game will star Patrick Gibson in a reimagined origin story, according to BBC Technology.
The game is being developed in association with Delphi Interactive, which is also working on the upcoming FIFA game set to be released on Netflix ahead of the 2026 World Cup, according to BBC Technology. Fans hope the new title will surpass the legacy of classics like "GoldenEye 007," according to BBC Technology.
